Postdoctoral Researcher – Design of Novel Polymer-Based Materials

About the role

The Institute of Science, Technology & Innovation (IST&I) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University seeks a motivated postdoctoral researcher to design and develop novel polymer‑based materials and functionalized ion‑exchange resins for high‑value industrial applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and synthesize advanced synthetic polymers with tailored architectures.
• Functionalize polymers and prepare ion‑exchange resin matrices for selective extraction processes.
• Characterize materials using techniques such as NMR, GPC, FTIR, and thermal analysis.
• Evaluate polymer performance in applications like wastewater treatment and fertilizer coating.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners, publish results, and present findings at conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in polymer synthesis, functionalization, and resin preparation.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
