Postdoctoral Researcher in Agronomy & Soil Microbiology

About the role

The AgroBioSciences (AgBS) program at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking a dynamic postdoctoral researcher to advance cutting‑edge research in agronomy and soil microbiology, with a focus on African soils.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys on farmer fields, collect soil samples and produce detailed maps of sampled areas.
• Prepare soils for physico‑chemical property measurements.
• Isolate beneficial microorganisms and perform greenhouse and field assays to validate their agronomic value.
• Extract DNA, generate amplicon and shotgun sequencing libraries, and characterize the soil microbiome.
• Analyze sequencing data and develop recommendations for sustainable farming practices.

Required profile

• PhD in Agronomy, Soil Science, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.
• Experience with soil microbiome studies and field work.
• Ability to work independently and communicate results effectively.
