Postdoctoral Researcher in Aquaculture Systems and Seaweed Monitoring

About the role

The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Laayoune is recruiting, for a one-year contract, a Postdoctoral researcher in aquaculture and seaweed monitoring. ASARI is an applied research institute focused on solving local, regional and African agriculture challenges through interdisciplinary research.

Key responsibilities

• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at national and international conferences
• Assist with grant writing and the development of new research directions
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and support lab and hatchery operations
• Assist in organizing and launching research activities
• Contribute to general laboratory management and logistics
• Document standard operating procedures

Required profile

• PhD in marine science, aquaculture or a similar field from a recognized university
• Professional experience in aquaculture research
• Able to carry out field work
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative research team
• Strong written and verbal English, with a record of peer-reviewed publications

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical analysis and data visualization
• Field work capability
