Postdoctoral Researcher in Cell Biology and Protein Purification

About the role

The MAScIR Foundation, a non-profit affiliated with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join its team on a fixed-term position. The project focuses on the design, production and characterization of recombinant proteins, under the supervision of the project leader. The required level is a PhD in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or a related field.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and optimize cell culture protocols under sterile conditions (adherent or suspension eukaryotic cell lines)
• Design and run recombinant protein expression experiments in eukaryotic or prokaryotic systems (HEK293, CHO, E. coli, etc.)
• Apply and optimize transfection methods (chemical, electroporation) or viral infection techniques (adenovirus, baculovirus)
• Purify target proteins by chromatography (affinity, ion exchange, gel filtration)
• Analyze and characterize purified proteins with SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, UV spectroscopy, BCA/Bradford assays, etc.
• Contribute to data analysis, protocol optimization and scientific reporting
• Support publication and patent applications, and supervise students and interns

Required profile

• PhD in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or a related field
• Scientific autonomy, strong experimental rigor, critical thinking and problem-solving
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and good oral and written English and French
• Animal experimentation experience is an asset

• Sterile cell culture with eukaryotic cell lines
• Recombinant protein expression (transient and/or stable systems)
• Molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, PCR, RT-PCR)
• Protein purification (FPLC/HPLC chromatography)
• Protein analysis (SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, UV spectroscopy, BCA/Bradford)
