Postdoctoral Researcher in Plant Ecology & Soil‑Plant Interactions for Vegetated Photovoltaics

About the role

We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an innovative project evaluating native vegetation under photovoltaic installations in semi‑arid post‑mine environments. The work aims to stabilize soil, reduce dust, and create a microclimate that improves solar panel performance.

Key responsibilities

• Select and characterize native and local plant species (grasses, legumes, pollinator‑friendly plants).
• Implement germination, growth and adaptation trials under semi‑arid conditions.
• Conduct field trials on pilot sites and monitor vegetation effects on microclimate.
• Analyse soil‑plant interactions, including composition, moisture and microbiology.
• Produce scientific outputs: publications, reports and communication of results.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations according to UM6P standards.

Required profile

• PhD in plant ecology, environmental sciences or a related discipline.
• Experience in phytomanagement, revegetation of degraded sites and knowledge of Moroccan or Mediterranean native plants.
• Proficiency in plant propagation, biodiversity monitoring and plant‑growth tracking.
• Strong field‑experiment and ecological data‑collection skills.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory equipment and procedures.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English and French.
