Project Director, Global Technical Expert Model

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a senior leader to design and launch a future‑fit Global Technical Expertise (TE) model. Reporting jointly to the Chief Programme Delivery & Impact Officer and the Chief Strategy Officer, the Project Director will shape a financially sustainable, outcome‑driven platform that enhances impact for children worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, agreement and initial execution of the Global TE strategy and operating model.
• Define the TE value proposition, design principles and target operating model.
• Secure alignment across the global movement and embed the model within localisation and partnership agendas.
• Develop a financially grounded implementation plan, including workforce, funding and utilisation frameworks.
• Oversee a team of technical experts and manage up to 10% international travel.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in leading large‑scale, multi‑stakeholder programmes within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven ability to design and implement strategic models that balance technical excellence with financial sustainability.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of aligning senior leaders across a global network.
• Executive‑level communication and negotiation abilities.
