Repair Lead Design Engineer – Applied Technical Solutions

About the role

Join Siemens Energy’s Applied Technical Solutions team to lead the design and validation of technical solutions for compressor repairs across Europe. You will guide projects from proposal through reverse engineering, re‑assembly and shipping, collaborating with global experts to ensure client goals for capacity, efficiency and reliability are met.

Key responsibilities

• Apply and standardise 3D‑scan technology for remodelling and industrialising compressor components.
• Coordinate project progress, develop repair designs and make technical decisions while communicating with Repair Centres and stakeholders.
• Support pre‑sale activities by evaluating solution practicality, logistics and risk.
• Create repair solutions using global service‑center knowledge, including precise 3D modelling of parts.
• Develop upgrade alternatives for rotors, bearings, seals and other compressor parts in line with legal requirements.
• Assist manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers with drawing interpretation and shop‑floor issue resolution.
• Participate in field and service‑center work to implement hardware into client compressors.

Required profile

• Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Over 10 years of industrial experience with rotating machinery, including centrifugal and screw compressors.
• At least 5 years in compressor‑repair engineering or product‑design engineering.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25 % internationally.
