Rust Software Engineer – Ground Control & Robotics

About the role

Our client, a Swiss technology company, develops advanced autonomous and drone systems for demanding industrial environments. They need a hands‑on Rust Software Engineer to build and enhance ground‑control and operator‑facing applications that monitor and control complex robotic platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑performance desktop GUIs and technical user interfaces using Rust.
• Develop real‑time telemetry, data‑visualisation, and video‑streaming workflows.
• Integrate software with drones, robotic platforms, embedded systems and external services.
• Optimise application performance, memory usage, multithreading and latency.
• Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong recent experience delivering production‑grade software in Rust.
• Proven track record building desktop applications, GUIs or operator‑facing tools.
• Solid understanding of multithreading, memory management, performance optimisation and async programming.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
