Seating Design Engineer – R&D

About the role

The Seating Design Engineer will join Lear's R&D Center in Rabat Technopolis, reporting to the Business Unit Engineering Manager. You will lead design projects, develop new seating components, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Independently lead seating design projects from concept to production.
• Coordinate new product development activities with Testing, Validation, Trim engineering, and other Lear functions.
• Present design status and results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Develop seating components according to customer specs and Lear guidelines.
• Perform studies, tolerance, alignment and stack‑up analyses for seat assemblies.
• Create detailed component and assembly drawings.
• Manage product changes within the PLM system.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of product development experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
• Good understanding of basic mechanical principles.
• Proficient English (B1 level or higher), both written and spoken.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
