Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead a team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with legislation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organise sub‑ordinates' work to ensure timely data collection, updating and analysis.
• Monitor application of accounting/financial procedures and ensure compliance.
• Develop policies and manage projects to improve the accounting function.
• Process ledgers and advanced entries accurately and on schedule.
• Analyse accounts, reconcile financial data and produce statutory reports within deadlines.
• Supervise transaction processing and ensure legislative reporting requirements are met.
• Identify, investigate and correct routine errors and discrepancies.
• Prepare regular and ad‑hoc financial reports to support management decisions.
• Manage medium‑sized projects, provide feedback and achieve objectives.
• Maintain knowledge of external legislative framework and ensure departmental compliance.
• Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Provide technical supervision, evaluate and coach junior staff.

Required profile

• BA/Accounting degree with at least 7 years of finance/accounting experience.
• Good knowledge of local laws and related regulations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
