Senior Research Associate – Education Impact Evaluation

About the role

The Morocco Innovation and Evaluation Lab (MEL) seeks a Senior Research Associate to lead and coordinate research activities that promote evidence‑based policymaking in the education sector. Based at the UM6P campus in Rabat, you will work closely with international scholars from J‑PAL, CID and partner institutions to design, implement and supervise impact evaluations.

Key responsibilities

• Propose and implement methodological innovations across project stages in coordination with Principal Investigators.
• Maintain and expand relationships with partner organisations, public agencies and NGOs.
• Oversee field research activities, ensuring evaluations follow the approved research design.
• Supervise data collection, management and analysis for qualitative pilots and future randomized controlled trials.
• Collaborate with senior staff from J‑PAL, CID, UM6P and other academic researchers.
• Prepare reports and disseminate rigorous evidence to inform policy decisions.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in economics, education, public policy or a related field.
• Extensive experience in impact evaluation, preferably with randomized designs.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑partner research projects and supervise field teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
