Social Media Manager

About the role

The Social Media Manager will join 1web.ca’s Edmonton office to lead the planning, creation, and publishing of content across multiple social platforms. This full‑time position focuses on building brand awareness, driving engagement, and supporting lead generation for the company’s clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain social media content calendars aligned with marketing goals.
• Create, write, and schedule posts optimized for each platform.
• Monitor community interactions, respond to comments, and foster engagement.
• Track performance metrics, generate reports, and adjust strategies based on data and trends.
• Collaborate with design, development, and client‑facing teams to ensure consistent messaging.

Required profile

• Proven experience in social media marketing and social media optimization (SMO) for brand accounts.
• Excellent written communication with a focus on clear, concise, and engaging content.
• Ability to analyze metrics, interpret data, and refine campaigns accordingly.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills in an on‑site environment.
• Post‑secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with social media management and scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, and Meta Business Suite.
• Experience developing platform‑specific content strategies.
• Familiarity with basic web and SEO principles is a plus.
