Terminal Supervisor

About the role

The Terminal Supervisor leads operational teams on shift to ensure safe, efficient and reliable terminal performance. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be on the ground, coaching staff and translating plans into disciplined execution while fostering a continuous‑improvement culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise operational teams to achieve safe and productive shift outcomes.
• Maintain a visible presence on the terminal, acting as the focal point for vessel, yard or gate issues.
• Plan and organise daily tasks, allocate staff and equipment, and minimise quay crane idle time.
• Enforce discipline, escalate violations and provide coaching to develop team capability.
• Supervise outsourced equipment operators to ensure compliance with standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and conduct regular process‑control checks.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives using Lean principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience in container terminal operations or a similar environment.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of container terminal operations.
• Knowledge of vessel cargo logistics.
• Experience applying Lean principles for operational excellence.
• Familiarity with quay crane management and equipment coordination.
