Associate Software Engineer – BI Frontend Designer

About the role

Forterro is looking for an Associate Software Engineer who will act as a BI Frontend Designer. You will create high‑quality, predefined BI dashboards and reports in TARGIT for ERP systems across the Forterro ecosystem, working closely with R&D and Product Management teams based in Denmark.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build predefined dashboards and reports using TARGIT.
• Translate business requirements and use cases into clear, intuitive visual dashboards.
• Structure dashboards with strong navigation, storytelling, and drill‑down capabilities.
• Define and visualise KPIs that deliver meaningful business insights.
• Collaborate with the team to scale dashboard deployment and ensure reusability.
• Continuously improve user experience, visual quality, and consistency across BI solutions.
• Contribute to dashboard design guidelines and standards.
• Prioritise customer value and usability over unnecessary complexity.
• Participate in customer discussions to gather feedback and inspire improvements.

Required profile

• Strong visual design and layout skills, including colour theory, hierarchy and gestalt principles.
• Ability to design intuitive dashboards with clear structure and logical data flow.
• Excellent data‑storytelling capabilities and understanding of how users consume insights.
• Solid grasp of KPIs and business logic.
• UX‑focused mindset with emphasis on usability and customer value.
• Effective collaboration in cross‑functional, international teams.
• Confidence to question assumptions and suggest design improvements.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction.

Required skills

• Experience with BI and data‑visualisation tools such as TARGIT, Power BI or Tableau.
• Background as a BI consultant, data analyst, UX/UI or graphic designer working with data.
• Basic technical understanding of BI environments (beneficial but not required).
