Automotive Cybersecurity Test Engineer

About the role

Scalian is seeking an Automotive Cybersecurity Test Engineer to design, automate, and execute test cases for automotive security components. The role focuses on validating TLS, IPsec, and related protocols within ECU environments, ensuring robust security and functional performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop traceable test cases from requirements and specifications.
• Automate test execution using Python and relevant frameworks (e.g., ECU-TEST, AmTS).
• Perform test execution, result analysis, defect investigation and regression testing.
• Maintain test suites, test management tools (Octane, Jira, Codebeamer) and version control repositories.
• Collect logs, run commands via SSH on Linux/QNX targets and troubleshoot issues.
• Analyse network traces with Wireshark, focusing on Ethernet, TCP/IP, TLS/DTLS, IPsec, MACsec, SOME/IP.
• Collaborate with international project teams to ensure test coverage and quality.

Required profile

• Strong background in software/system testing with proven test case creation and execution.
• Ability to derive structured, traceable test cases from specifications.
• Experience in defect management, ticketing and root‑cause analysis.
• Fluent English and ability to work independently in an international environment.

Required skills

• Python scripting and test automation.
• ALM/test management tools such as Octane, Jira, Codebeamer.
• Git version control and basic CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins).
• Linux operating system, SSH access and basic troubleshooting.
• Networking fundamentals: Ethernet, TCP/IP, Wireshark trace analysis.
• Automotive security protocols: TLS/DTLS, IPsec, MACsec, SOME/IP.
• Familiarity with POSIX, QNX, Bash/Shell scripting, CANoe, basic C/C++.
• Experience with ECU-TEST or comparable automation frameworks (preferred).
