Customs Billing Supervisor

About the role

The Customs Billing Supervisor oversees the end‑to‑end billing process for transport and customs operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely invoicing. Working closely with operations, customs, and accounting teams, this role guarantees that customer invoices reflect the correct rates, services and contractual terms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and organise the billing team’s workload, prioritising files and monitoring distribution.
• Provide technical guidance, training and best‑practice support to develop team members.
• Prepare, review and validate customer invoices for transport, customs and ancillary charges.
• Verify billing elements against rates, service agreements, documentation and commercial contracts.
• Track key performance indicators such as billing timelines, volume processed and discrepancy rates, implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Resolve complex billing disputes, recurring discrepancies and sensitive customer requests.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and standardise billing procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum Bac +2 (2‑year degree) in Finance, Management, Transport/Logistics or a customs declarant diploma.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar billing role within transport, logistics or freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of international transport and customs regulations.
• Fluent French; professional level English preferred.
• Proven ability to manage high‑volume file processing and work effectively in a team.
• Demonstrated experience in team coordination or management.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with industry‑specific billing software (as used in logistics).
