Data Engineer – Data Modeler (Retail)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Modeler to help design and evolve a modern, cloud‑based data platform for a leading retail organization. You will create scalable, high‑quality data models that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data models for analytical and operational use cases.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient data structures.
• Optimize Snowflake schemas for storage, processing, and accessibility.
• Establish data quality, consistency, and governance standards.
• Analyze and improve model and query performance.
• Document data models, business rules, and data flows.
• Partner with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to enable data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, or similar role.
• Strong SQL skills and basic Python knowledge.
• Hands‑on experience with Snowflake and cloud environments (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure a plus).
• Solid understanding of data modeling principles, database optimization, and data architecture best practices.
• Experience with large‑scale data sets and retail data domains.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
