Data Engineer

About the role

Data engineers collect, transform and store data using pipelines and storage systems. They extract data from various source systems, transform it in a staging area and load it into databases, data warehouses or data lakes. The role ensures data is readily available and of high quality to enable data analysts and data scientists to extract insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines for efficient data movement.
• Extract data from multiple source systems and load it into data warehouses or data lakes.
• Ensure quantitative and qualitative access to data sources for analysts and scientists.
• Guarantee data quality and availability to support downstream analytics.
• Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to understand data requirements and optimise pipelines.

Required profile

• Engineer or Master’s degree in Big Data or a related field.
• Experience using analytic applications, techniques and statistical methods to organise and synthesise data.
• Ability to produce statistical studies and analyses on diverse data sources.
• Capability to drive analysis that solves business problems or meets needs.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset to translate business needs into data solutions.
