Senior IT/OT Engineer

About the role

Maersk, through APM Terminals, is looking for a senior IT/OT Engineer to lead the implementation, integration and continuous improvement of IT/OT technologies in a busy terminal environment. You will act as a trusted technology partner to Operations, Engineering, Automation and other stakeholders, turning business needs into secure, resilient and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the IT/OT technology landscape for the assigned terminal, ensuring alignment with global standards and local operational requirements.
• Plan and execute upgrades, lifecycle refreshes and technology changes while minimizing disruption to critical terminal operations.
• Lead incident, problem and root‑cause management, delivering timely resolutions within agreed SLAs.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost system reliability, operational efficiency and user experience.
• Provide technical input for QA, testing, commissioning and operational acceptance of new solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships, performance and service delivery for IT/OT solutions.
• Coach and develop L1/L2 IT/OT engineering and shift teams, ensuring strong technical capability and coverage.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in IT/OT engineering within a complex, mission‑critical industrial environment.
• Deep understanding of IT/OT architecture, industrial networks, automation systems, PLC/controls and port equipment.
• Strong knowledge of IT service management, incident/problem management, change management and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions while balancing feasibility, cost and risk.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across Operations, Engineering, Cybersecurity and senior leadership.
