Director of Security & Engineering

About the role

The Director of Security & Engineering is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, security, and asset protection of the property in Fnideq, Morocco. This senior position oversees the building, grounds, and physical plant while managing budgets, capital projects, preventative maintenance, and energy‑conservation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering operations and budgets, reporting performance to leadership.
• Oversee the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and water‑treatment systems.
• Administer service contracts and ensure fire‑crew familiarity with procedures, equipment, and alarms.
• Coach the engineering team on controllable expenses such as wages, utilities, tools, and supplies.
• Develop and align an engineering operating strategy with the property’s business goals.
• Prepare, monitor, and adjust the engineering budget.
• Execute long‑term preventative maintenance and 10‑year asset‑protection plans.
• Review financial reports, identify concerns, and propose proactive solutions.
• Communicate departmental goals clearly to achieve desired results.
• Supervise construction projects to ensure timely, on‑budget completion.
• Lead the emergency response team for all facility‑related issues.
• Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 6 years of engineering/maintenance experience, or an associate degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, etc., with at least 4 years of experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, capital projects, and regulatory compliance.
