Project Cost Controller – R&D & CAPEX

About the role

ALTEN Morocco is seeking a Project Cost Controller to manage and consolidate R&D and CAPEX expenses for engineering projects. The role reports to the Project Economics Manager and contributes to achieving financial targets through accurate expense tracking and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and monitor the status of project expenses, including make/buy investments, launch costs, and supplier services.
• Synthesize global project expenses by integrating FTE data and validation inputs.
• Retrieve and maintain cost books, create multi‑year expense views and required splits (annual, by project, region).
• Ensure data quality, source integrity, and consistency for expense reporting.
• Build and update a risks and opportunities portfolio for expenses and lead corrective action plans.
• Define and propose expense targets with product planning and communicate them to engineering and sourcing stakeholders.
• Manage the annual project budget, monitor actual versus budgeted spend, and produce monthly forecasts.
• Coordinate action plans with purchasing and engineering to meet forecasts and validate expense workflows.
• Prepare the project for mass production, compile remaining expense items, and transfer budgets to the serial‑life team.
• Deliver final expense status and lessons learned, and help formalize expense management rules.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in cost control, project finance, or related fields.
