Project Economics Controller (PEC)

About the role

As a Project Economics Controller (PEC) you will support the Project Economics Manager in managing and consolidating R&D and CAPEX expenditures for engineering projects. You will ensure budgetary targets are met while providing clear financial insights to cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and consolidate project expense data (R&D, CAPEX, make/buy, ED&D suppliers, PSO).
• Develop multi‑year spending forecasts and break them down by year, project and region.
• Coordinate budget convergence actions with Engineering, GPSC and Purchasing.
• Monitor the annual project budget, compare actuals to forecasts, and produce monthly/annual updates.
• Validate R&D expense workflows and investment approvals.
• Prepare series‑entry documentation, including residual expense compilation and hand‑over to the Serial Life Team.
• Document lessons learned and governance rules in VEMO/RD3C.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in R&D or CAPEX controlling.
• Degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering.
• Experience interacting with technical organisations (R&D, Engineering, Finance, project teams).
• Strong analytical skills for variance analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of the automotive industry is a plus.
