Senior Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Senior Purchasing Officer will lead procurement activities for the organization, ensuring that materials, parts, and equipment are sourced efficiently and in compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations. This role collaborates closely with internal departments to maintain optimal inventory levels and support project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.
• Develop bid specifications and manage competitive procurement processes in line with USG regulations.
• Review requisition orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with suppliers to schedule, expedite, and resolve delivery issues.
• Approve bills, calculate order costs, and forward invoices to accounting.
• Maintain documentation of purchase orders and verify invoices for payment.
• Analyze quotations, recommend suppliers, and schedule deliveries.
• Monitor budget adherence and prevent cost overruns.
• Serve as point of contact for customs regulations related to imports and exports.
• Conduct internal audits with accounts payable to ensure policy compliance.
• Manage equipment inventory and support asset lifecycle activities.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of procurement methods and procedures.
• Familiarity with company policies and relevant government regulations.
• Experience reviewing requisitions, managing supplier relationships, and handling invoice processing.
• Ability to monitor budgets and ensure compliance with financial controls.
• Experience with customs regulations and international trade processes.
