Transportation Engineer Internship

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Transportation Engineering intern to join our Highway & Traffic Business Unit for a 12‑week paid summer program. The role provides hands‑on experience on real client projects, focusing on highway, roadway, and traffic design while supporting a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with roadway and traffic engineering design, including signals, signs, and pavement markings.
• Support traffic studies, data collection, and analysis of traffic flow and patterns.
• Contribute to transportation planning and traffic impact studies, including permit applications.
• Conduct field visits, surveys, and construction support activities.
• Prepare technical reports and use design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Synchro.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in civil or transportation engineering.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lb of equipment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
