Accounting Clerk

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to support our Canadian client with a range of accounting and administrative duties. The successful candidate will manage bookkeeping activities, maintain fiscal records, and assist in preparing financial reports, including monthly bank reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Complete monthly reconciliations for bank, receivable, and credit‑card accounts.
• Maintain accurate supporting documentation for all financial transactions.
• Ensure a systematic filing system for bookkeeping and financial records.
• Assist in documenting policies and procedures for complex accounting issues.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with the Accountant on year‑end financial statements.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or an accounting clerk role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
• Excellent problem‑identification and resolution abilities.
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• Experience with bookkeeping platforms; familiarity with Xero is a plus.
