Accounts Payable Manager

About the role

Genetix Biotherapeutics is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead the day‑to‑day AP function for its hybrid office in Somerville, MA (or Eaxton, PA). The role reports to the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for accurate invoice processing, vendor payments, and compliance with financial policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice and payment processing.
• Maintain efficient workflows, resolve issues affecting accuracy or deadlines, and handle vendor inquiries.
• Develop, implement, and enforce AP policies and procedures to improve processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate month‑end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Maintain internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Partner with procurement, general accounting, and other finance team members.
• Track AP metrics to identify inefficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable processing.
• Strong analytical, data analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite.
• Knowledge of accounts payable processes, financial controls and GAAP.
• Familiarity with Sunshine Act compliance is a plus.
