Assistant Professor of Communication Systems for Space Applications

About the role

The Morocco Aerospace Research Institute (MARI‑SPACE) seeks an Assistant Professor to lead research and teaching in communication systems for space applications. The position focuses on RF and optical communications for CubeSat and small‑satellite platforms, supporting both academic curricula and cutting‑edge research projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑efficiency communication protocols, modulation schemes, and fault‑tolerant techniques for LEO satellite constellations.
• Design and test RF front‑ends, software‑defined radio (SDR) solutions, antenna systems, and optical link hardware.
• Conduct satellite link‑budget analyses and address LEO‑specific challenges.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in communication system engineering.
• Publish research findings in international journals and collaborate with industry partners.

Required profile

• PhD in Telecommunications, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in RF front‑end design, SDR, antenna engineering, and optical communication links.
• Strong understanding of satellite link budgets and the constraints of LEO missions.
• Track record of research in modulation, coding, and fault‑tolerant communications.
