Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports daily restaurant operations, including dining rooms, bars and room service where applicable. This role assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards, and steps in on the floor during peak periods to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth service.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise shift operations and open/close the restaurant as needed.
• Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and address questions or concerns.
• Ensure compliance with restaurant policies, sanitation standards, and local alcohol service laws.
• Communicate food quality and service issues to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Manage inventory, supplies, equipment and uniform availability for staff.
• Handle guest complaints, gather feedback, and work to improve service quality.
• Assist in training initiatives and coach employees on performance expectations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of food‑and‑beverage experience.
• OR a 2‑year degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
