Automation Engineer

About the role

As an Automation Engineer at TE Connectivity, you will ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with Production, Quality, EHS, and Facilities teams to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
• Maintain accurate CMMS data, including work orders, spare parts, and failure codes.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
• Support utilities such as HVAC, compressed air, boilers, and water systems.
• Ensure compliance with EHS and regulatory requirements.
• Drive reliability projects, TPM, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor PM/CM interventions and report performance.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for emergency response.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering (Industrial, Automation, Electronics) – plastics or injection‑molding knowledge is a plus.
• 2–4 years of experience in industrial machinery maintenance.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to manage time, priorities, and projects independently.
• Working proficiency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Inverter software management.
• CMMS usage (experience with IFS preferred).
• Electronic testing equipment operation.
• Predictive maintenance techniques.
• Root cause analysis methodology.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
