B1 Certifying Engineer

About the role

Air Arabia is looking for a B1 Certifying Engineer who carries out and supervises line and base-level maintenance on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft under the CAR 66 B1 licence category. The engineer ensures that work is performed, certified and recorded accurately and on time in line with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review assigned task cards with the Maintenance Manager before starting work, then prepare and carry out scheduled maintenance, obtaining the right documentation, parts, tools and ground support equipment.
• Perform aircraft test and inspection tasks to identify and record defects or damage, and troubleshoot and rectify defects using Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and Engineering Department instructions.
• Sign off maintenance tasks performed or supervised, verify that task cards and documents are complete, and coordinate with other engineers and technicians.
• Ensure safety: follow mandatory precautions, use proper GSE and protective equipment, and manage human factors such as task continuity and handovers.
• Support other operational teams, supervise and brief technicians, and present a professional image to flight crews, other companies' personnel and customers.
• Be aware of maintenance costs and minimise waste of consumables and part repairs.

Required profile

• EASA Part 66 and DGAC B1 licence with company maintenance approvals on the Airbus A320, with any licence limitations removed within 9 months of induction.
• Ability to obtain an unrestricted DGAC B1 licence and a Moroccan driving licence.
• External applicants: at least 2 years certifying maintenance on the A320 family and 5 years in a line/base maintenance environment.
• Internal applicants: at least 3 years as a qualified aircraft technician after initial training, licensed on A320 in B1, with a good performance record.
