B2 Certifying Engineer

About the role

Air Arabia is looking for a B2 Certifying Engineer who carries out and supervises line and base-level maintenance on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft under the CAR 66 B2 license category. The engineer ensures that work is performed, certified and recorded accurately and on time in line with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review assigned task cards with the Maintenance Manager before starting work, then prepare and carry out scheduled maintenance, obtaining the right documentation, parts, tools and ground support equipment.
• Perform aircraft test and inspection tasks to identify and record defects or damage, and troubleshoot and rectify defects using Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and Engineering Department instructions.
• Sign off maintenance tasks performed or supervised, verify that task cards and documents are complete, and coordinate with other engineers and technicians.
• Manage safety, taking mandatory precautions and protecting colleagues with proper GSE and protective equipment; manage human factors by avoiding interruptions and using handover procedures.
• Support other operational teams in the maintenance centre, supervise and brief technicians, and present a professional image to flight crews, other companies' personnel and customers.
• Keep cost awareness, minimising waste of consumables and part repair costs.

Required profile

• Valid B2 Aircraft Maintenance License with company maintenance approvals on the Airbus A320.
• External applicants: at least 2 years certifying maintenance on the A320 family and at least 5 years in a base or line maintenance environment.
• Internal applicants: at least 5 years in a base or line maintenance environment, licensed on A320 in B2 category, with a good performance record.
• Good command of English for technical communication.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of avionics systems and their maintenance.
• Good computer skills with Microsoft Office.
