Backend Engineer Node.js + AWS

About the role

Deel is a fast‑growing SaaS platform that powers payroll, HR, compliance and benefits for global teams. We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build and scale core services using Node.js and AWS, working closely with product, design and QA to deliver high‑impact features.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Frontend Engineers, Product Managers, Designers and QA to create seamless experiences.
• Participate in product planning from discovery through deployment, influencing the software development lifecycle.
• Design, implement and maintain robust new features, APIs and services on our AWS infrastructure.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve bugs quickly, maintaining Deel‑speed quality standards.
• Ensure the platform remains reliable, secure and performant for millions of users worldwide.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in backend development with Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript best practices.
• Experience with at least one additional server‑side programming language.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Customer‑centric mindset with a focus on delivering high‑quality software.
