Backend PHP Developer

About the role

Digital Virgo is a leading mobile‑payment company connecting telecom operators with merchants worldwide through a single API. As a Backend PHP Developer you will join a passionate team building and evolving a strategic payment platform.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and create offers aligned with business needs.
• Develop connections between various offers/operators and the platform.
• Carry out development, integration and unit testing during project phases.
• Contribute to team discussions on technology and architecture choices.
• Ensure maintenance, bug fixes and evolution of all developments.
• Detect and diagnose issues, proactively suggesting improvements and fixes.

Required profile

• Adaptable, autonomous and rigorous, delivering quality services using Agile methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills with clear communication in English.
• Genuine passion for new technologies and continuous learning.
• Enjoy problem‑solving, end‑to‑end incident investigation and platform improvement.

Required skills

• 2+ years of experience with PHP 8, OOP, Composer and PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and experience with Laravel or Symfony.
• Backend development expertise, REST API consumption and SOAP/XML web services.
• Commitment to code quality, maintainability and reusability.
• Familiarity with Git/GitLab and solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, AWS and related cloud services.
• Knowledge of Couchbase, Redis and RabbitMQ is a plus.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit or Behat.
