BOM Engineer

About the role

Alstom is looking for a BOM Engineer to manage Bill of Materials data across multiple systems, ensuring consistency and supporting the product lifecycle for railway projects. You will work closely with sourcing, quality, methods, and customers to keep engineering data accurate and up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Implement M‑BoM, P‑BoM, routings, work centers, tooling, and purchasing files in the ERP.
• Maintain data consistency across all systems and manage impacts of engineering or process changes.
• Organise meetings on MoB with relevant parties (Sourcing, Quality, Methods, etc.).
• Track BOM evolution throughout the project lifecycle and cross‑check BOM against boards, FI, Plugmap before ERP integration.
• Set up effectivity for change applications and ensure accuracy of P‑BoMs through audits.
• Interface with customers on BOM issues and participate in QRQC, PDCA, and continuous‑improvement work groups.
• Create and establish routings for products, ensuring correct component allocation and data correspondence.
• Perform weekly and monthly audits of system settings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in railway services.
• Basic knowledge of engineering design and supply‑chain processes.
• Behavioural traits: conscientious, team‑player, self‑motivated, logical and organized.

Required skills

• Strong experience with ERP systems, especially SAP.
• Bill of Materials (BoM) management.
• Routing configuration and management.
• Configuration management within an ERP environment.
• Familiarity with common industrial software tools.
