Business Development Executive / Lead

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Executive / Lead to drive new client acquisition and strategic partnerships in the consumer financing sector, working closely with a leading digital bank. The role focuses on hunting new opportunities, managing the full sales cycle, and building long‑term relationships with key players in the automotive industry.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities (hunter role, not farming).
• Engage with potential clients, partners and industry stakeholders across Malaysia.
• Attend meetings, events and networking sessions to expand the company’s presence.
• Own the end‑to‑end sales process: prospecting, pitching, negotiation and closing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision‑makers in the automotive sector.
• Close high‑value B2B deals and drive revenue growth.
• Collaborate with the Head of Business Development and the farmer team to meet aggressive growth targets.
• Lead and motivate the BD team by example (for Lead position).
• Track pipeline, revenue performance and market feedback.
• Travel as needed to explore new markets and opportunities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales.
• Strong hunter mindset – proactive, resilient and target‑driven.
• Comfortable initiating conversations with new contacts.
• Willingness to travel and ability to work outside a traditional office setting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfortable working with KPIs, targets and deadlines.
