Chief Accountant – Taghazout Bay Marriott

About the role

The Chief Accountant will support day‑to‑day execution of general‑ledger processes, ensuring accurate account balancing, ledger reconciliation and timely financial reporting for the Taghazout Bay Marriott property. The role also involves guiding teams, handling audit activities and maintaining strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement accounting projects, including SOP audits across all property areas.
• Balance credit‑card ledgers, verify contracts for groups and perform credit reference checks when needed.
• Prepare accurate profit and loss statements, monitor applicable taxes and ensure they are current, collected or accrued.
• Complete period‑end close functions and generate timely financial reports and presentations.
• Provide direction on accounting and budgeting policies, supporting other units to safeguard assets.
• Lead, coach and train accounting staff, fostering a productive and culturally diverse work environment.

Required profile

• 4‑year bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting (no experience required) OR a 2‑year degree with at least 2 years relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects, meet performance and budget goals, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
