Cloud Support Engineer

About the role

Numerix is seeking a Cloud Support Engineer to join its technical team. The role focuses on delivering hands‑on support for cloud infrastructure, primarily on Amazon Web Services, while ensuring high availability, security, and performance for internal and client workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support and management of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.
• Troubleshoot networking, security groups, auto‑scaling, and instance performance issues.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases hosted on RDS or EC2, including health monitoring, backups, and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, and Python; implement Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Utilize monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus) to track system health, optimise resource usage, and control cloud costs.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, applying patches, updates, and security enhancements.
• Enforce cloud security best practices, manage IAM policies, and ensure compliance with standards such as SOC, ISO, and GDPR.

Required profile

• At least 2‑3 years of DevOps or cloud operations experience.
• AWS Associate‑level certification (required); AWS SysOps certification (preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with configuration‑management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
