Delivery AI Software Engineering Senior Manager

About the role

As a Delivery AI Software Engineering Senior Manager within BCG X, you will work closely with consulting and product teams to translate advanced AI concepts into production‑ready software solutions. The role blends deep software engineering expertise with AI‑native development practices to accelerate delivery of proofs‑of‑concept, MVPs and enterprise‑grade products.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with BCG consulting, case and product teams to apply modern software development methodologies and AI‑enabled tooling.
• Lead cross‑functional, geographically distributed teams through the full product lifecycle—from discovery and rapid prototyping to testing, deployment and ongoing optimisation.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, resilient solutions using cloud platforms, containerisation and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Drive adoption of generative AI, AI coding assistants and automation to boost engineering velocity and developer productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant experience leading 20+ engineers on enterprise‑scale products and rapid MVPs, preferably in a consulting or technology services environment.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage performance, and foster a high‑performing engineering culture.

Required skills

• AI‑native software engineering: generative AI, AI coding assistants, LLM‑based applications, RAG.
• Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, Unix/Linux environments, Git.
• Full‑stack development with React, Angular or Vue and backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django or Node.js.
• Cloud expertise on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; containerisation with Docker/Kubernetes; IaC with Terraform.
• Modern CI/CD and DevSecOps tools: Harness, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI.
• Data platforms: SQL, NoSQL, Graph or Vector databases; design of REST APIs.
• Automated testing frameworks: Pytest, Jest, Mocha.
