Deputy HSE Manager

About the role

Acciona is seeking a Deputy HSE Manager to support the HSE Manager in overseeing health, safety and environment activities across large‑scale industrial construction and commissioning projects in Casablanca. The role will help ensure compliance with HSE standards, legal requirements and client expectations while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the HSE Manager in planning, coordinating and monitoring HSE activities for construction, pre‑commissioning, testing, energisation, start‑up and hand‑over phases.
• Ensure implementation of HSE procedures, standards and legal obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with EPC teams, subcontractors, commissioning crews, the client and other stakeholders to guarantee HSE compliance.
• Lead HSE inspections, audits and compliance monitoring, and support incident response, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action management.
• Control high‑risk operations such as SIMOPS, LOTO, lifting, work at height, confined spaces and electrical safety.
• Supervise subcontractor HSE performance and promote continuous improvement of safety metrics.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in major industrial construction and commissioning, preferably in desalination or water‑treatment plants.
• Degree in HSE, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field; NEBOSH or IOSH certification preferred.
• Fluent in English and French; Arabic is an advantage.
• Proactive, organized, decisive and able to work under pressure in complex industrial environments.

• HIRAC, RAMS, PTW, SIMOPS, LOTO, lifting operations, work at height, confined spaces, electrical safety, energisation activities.
• Sub‑contractor supervision, HSE inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
• Incident investigation, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action management.
• NEBOSH and/or IOSH certification.
