Design Release Engineer – Components (Infotainment / ADAS)

About the role

MICLA Engineering & Design is seeking a Design Release Engineer to lead component development for production vehicle programs of a major carmaker. The role blends deep technical expertise with program leadership, overseeing the specification, integration and validation of ECUs, sensors, cameras, radar, lidar, displays and audio systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical development of components from specification through to production.
• Release component technical specifications and translate customer requirements into functional, software, hardware and test requirements.
• Prepare source packages and evaluate supplier proposals from a technical standpoint.
• Guide integration teams on component placement, packaging and environmental constraints.
• Coordinate meetings with suppliers, monitor progress and define counter‑measures for issues and delays.
• Collaborate with diagnostics, functional safety and cybersecurity specialists on technical solutions.
• Support component‑level validation planning (environmental, EMC) and monitor HW/SW validation and bug‑fix closure.
• Conduct impact analysis, risk assessment and support end‑of‑line and plant requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical, Vehicle or Software Engineering or a related field.
• Proven delivery on automotive systems, preferably on a complete vehicle program.
• Project‑management capability and ability to work in cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
• Fluent English sufficient for technical discussions with international suppliers.
• Willingness to travel internationally for plant and supplier visits.

Required skills

• Automotive component development (ECUs, sensors, cameras, radar, lidar, displays, audio).
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
• Experience with DFMEA methodology.
• Supplier technical evaluation and management.
• PLM and EBOM tools (Teamcenter or equivalent) and part‑number creation/maintenance.
• Regulatory compliance for automotive components.
• Benchmarking of technologies and installation solutions.
