Design Release Engineer – Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Design Release Engineer to lead the development of the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) system across its full product lifecycle, from the RFQ stage through to serial production. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, validating system performance, and ensuring that all technical, quality, cost and timing objectives are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end development of the EPB system from RFQ to serial production.
• Manage technical activities of suppliers responsible for the Motor Gear Unit (MGU) and EPB software.
• Ensure compliance with project milestones, development schedules and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including systems, validation, quality, manufacturing and suppliers.
• Monitor software releases and verify functional and project requirements.
• Lead validation activities, analyse test results and approve test reports.
• Identify deviations, drive corrective actions and integrate them into subsequent releases.
• Support engineering change management within the PLM environment and align with hardware leads.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Embedded Systems or a related field.
• Experience in automotive system development, preferably in braking, chassis or embedded systems.
• Strong project and supplier management skills.
• Good understanding of automotive development processes, validation activities and APQP methodology.
• Experience in issue analysis, root‑cause investigation and corrective‑action management.
• Fluent English and ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EPB, ESP, braking systems and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience with software and hardware integration in automotive environments.
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards and supplier development processes.
• Understanding of APQP methodologies.
• Proficiency with PLM tools and engineering change management.
