Embedded Software Engineer

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join its UAV development team. You will help design software architectures, set up development environments, and integrate drivers and algorithms for sensors and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain the operating system (Embedded Linux or RTOS) for UAV platforms.
• Participate in improving embedded software architecture for scalability and reliability.
• Develop sensor drivers and integrate online algorithms in collaboration with algorithmic teams.
• Improve and maintain telemetry systems for drones.
• Collaborate on in‑house tools to accelerate software development and ensure strong coding standards across the company.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in embedded software development, preferably in robotics or aerospace.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and solve complex technical challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ (Python is a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with Embedded Linux or RTOS and multi‑threaded/multi‑process systems.
• Experience developing and integrating sensor drivers, interpreting datasheets.
• Familiarity with debugging tools such as software debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of build systems and version control (Git).
• Understanding of firmware architecture and low‑level programming.
