English Writing & Editing Coach

About the role

Stairway is seeking an English Writing & Editing Coach to help Moroccan students craft compelling university application materials. You will work directly with students to develop authentic personal statements, supplemental essays, activity descriptions, and other written components.

Key responsibilities

• Guide students through brainstorming, drafting, and revising personal statements and supplemental essays.
• Provide detailed feedback on content, structure, storytelling, clarity, and language usage.
• Review and improve activity descriptions, short answers, and other application sections for consistency and impact.
• Meet regularly with students to track progress, ensure adherence to deadlines, and adapt coaching style to diverse writing levels.
• Optionally support broader application tasks such as university research, list building, and form completion.

Required profile

• Exceptional command of English writing and editing.
• Thoughtful communicator who can give clear, constructive feedback.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple student timelines.
• Genuine interest in helping students express their ideas authentically.

Required skills

• Strong grasp of English grammar, style, and vocabulary.
• Ability to critique and improve sentence structure, flow, and overall written quality.
