Faculty Position in Renewable Energy & Water Harvesting

About the role

Energy4Water (E4W) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University is seeking two full‑time permanent faculty members (Assistant/Associate Professor) to lead research and teaching in renewable energy systems, water‑harvesting technologies, and condensation‑sorption processes. The successful candidates will join the College of Chemistry & Engineering Sciences and contribute to the university’s transdisciplinary, innovation‑driven mission.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent, high‑impact research program integrating renewable energy, advanced water technologies, functional materials, and intelligent sensing/control.
• Design, conduct, and supervise experimental and modelling studies on sorption, condensation, and solar‑thermal systems.
• Publish results in high‑quality international journals and present at conferences.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to renewable energy and water resources.
• Supervise master’s and PhD students, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Collaborate with internal research units, industry partners, and external institutions to translate research into scalable solutions.

Required profile

• PhD in Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated research experience in solar‑thermal, water‑harvesting, sorption, or condensation technologies.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Ability to secure research funding and manage research teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Experimental design and laboratory instrumentation for energy and water systems.
• Numerical modelling and simulation of thermodynamic and fluid processes.
• Data analysis and interpretation.
