Field Support Engineer

About the role

The Field Support Engineer joins the Operations team of Secure Land Communications, reporting to the Project/Care Manager. You will be the primary point of contact for customers, handling incidents, performing network integrations and acceptance testing on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer requests and provide technical support via phone or remote tools.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex telecommunication systems and incidents.
• Verify corrections supplied by R&D and support rollout or upgrade operations.
• Prepare and execute network integrations and acceptance procedures with customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to propose and implement resolutions.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in telecommunications or IT.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills in English and French.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including worldwide assignments.
• Team‑oriented mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Cisco and Juniper networking equipment.
• Linux (including RedHat), VMware, Active Directory, MS Windows.
• Virtualization and containerization technologies.
• IP protocols: IPv4, IPv6, VoIP, Mobile IP, VLAN, VPN, OSPF.
• Security concepts: authentication, end‑to‑end encryption, firewalls, proxies, IPsec, SSL, vulnerability assessment.
• System integration and on‑site interventions.
• Agile methodology, test automation tools (Robot Framework, Python).
• Radio and terminal platform knowledge, Airbus Tetra.
• Help‑desk experience and open‑source management.
