Field Technician

About the role

The Field Technician conducts field trial operations and data collection for CROPRADAR, ensuring systematic, high‑quality execution of cereal crop experiments. This hands‑on, outdoor role requires methodical work, reliable documentation, and frequent travel between sites.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and monitor field trials for wheat and barley, following established protocols.
• Collect systematic field data, including crop observations, phenological stages, fertilizer records, yield measurements, and post‑harvest data.
• Capture ground‑level images of crop health, disease symptoms, and growth stages using cameras and basic field instruments.
• Support data quality by following standardized procedures and maintaining complete field records.
• Assist farmer participation through field visits and app‑assisted data collection workflows.
• Provide operational support for demonstrations and validation activities, coordinating with Al Moutmir field teams.
• Compile field data, logs, progress updates, and technical reports.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or Bac+2/Bac+3 in agriculture, agronomy, crop or soil science.
• Practical understanding of cereal cropping systems, fertilizer practices, and field operations.
• Hands‑on experience in field data collection, sampling, and measurement, preferably within trials or applied projects.
• Comfortable operating cameras and basic field instruments for systematic capture.
• Methodical, careful, and consistent with strong attention to data quality and documentation.
• Physically able to work outdoors and travel regularly across regions.
• Effective communication skills with farmers and field teams; proficiency in French and Arabic.
