GNC Engineer (UAV)

About the role

As a GNC Engineer on the UAV team at Harmattan AI, you will design and develop advanced guidance, navigation, and control solutions for autonomous defense systems. You will take algorithms from simulation through embedded implementation to live flight testing, ensuring robust performance in demanding environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop state‑of‑the‑art navigation and sensor‑fusion algorithms for UAVs.
• Design and implement GNC and flight‑control systems, including filtering and estimation strategies.
• Run extensive simulations (Monte Carlo, SITL, HITL) and perform coverage testing.
• Analyze test‑flight data to refine algorithmic performance.
• Support full‑stack integration of GNSS, INS/IMU, localisation, and sensor fusion.
• Maintain and evolve flight‑computer software across multiple UAV platforms.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (BSc/MSc) in computer science, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years experience in aerospace GNC systems.
• Strong foundation in control theory, estimation and sensor integration.
• Proficiency in Python and embedded C/C++ development.
• Experience with simulation tools such as Gazebo and version control (Git).
