Head of Energy

About the role

The Head of Energy will define and execute the strategy for Spiro’s electric‑mobility energy infrastructure across Morocco. This senior position oversees network planning, project delivery, renewable‑energy integration and day‑to‑day operations to support vehicle deployment and commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the energy strategy and phased rollout plan aligned with vehicle deployment and commercial targets.
• Lead planning, delivery and commissioning of charging, battery‑swapping and related electrical infrastructure.
• Evaluate and implement grid, solar, storage and hybrid solutions based on site demand, reliability and lifecycle economics.
• Own site prioritisation, technical due diligence, project execution, commissioning and handover to operations.
• Manage capital budgets, project schedules, technical standards, risk controls and performance reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with utilities, regulators, landlords, EPC partners, equipment suppliers and service contractors.
• Drive network availability, safety, energy efficiency, maintenance effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Build and lead engineering, project and network‑operations capability within the country organisation.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Renewable Energy or a related technical discipline.
• Typically 10+ years in power, utilities, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure or distributed‑energy operations.
• Proven experience delivering multi‑site infrastructure programmes from concept through commissioning.
• Strong commercial judgement, execution discipline and ability to manage technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strategic perspective with a strong bias for execution, high integrity and comfort working in an evolving environment.
