Head of Finance – West Mediterranean

About the role

The Head of Finance – West Mediterranean will lead the finance function for APM Terminals’ strategic West Med portfolio, covering Algeciras, Tangier and MedPort Tangier. Based in Tangier, the role sits at the intersection of finance, commercial performance and terminal operations, influencing long‑term growth and value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Set and drive the finance agenda across the West Med terminals, providing strategic and commercial financial leadership.
• Partner with Managing Directors and senior leadership to improve profitability, performance and sustainable growth.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management and regular business reviews.
• Lead CAPEX evaluation, major investment business cases and ensure disciplined capital allocation.
• Maintain strong financial governance, controls, compliance, risk management and statutory reporting.
• Promote continuous improvement, standardisation and Lean ways of working within the finance function.
• Translate financial data into clear insights to support commercial and operational decisions.
• Build and develop a high‑performing finance team, ensuring capability and succession planning.
• Coordinate with regional and global finance teams and oversee statutory governance of the Tangier Business Centre.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in a senior finance leadership role such as CFO or Head of Finance.
• Background in ports, terminals, logistics, infrastructure or other asset‑intensive industries.
• Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to partner with CEOs, MDs and executive boards.
• Deep understanding of P&L management, financial planning, investment appraisal, governance and risk controls.
• Experience leading finance teams in complex, multinational or multi‑country environments.
• Hands‑on leadership style, comfortable with both strategic direction and detailed execution.
