Health, Safety & Environment Manager (m/f/d)

About the role

The Health, Safety & Environment Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental and fire protection regulations across a manufacturing site. You will lead the HSE team, drive continuous improvement, and support business continuity in emergency situations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain occupational health and safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments, define preventive actions and investigate incidents to implement corrective measures.
• Organise safety training, awareness programmes and emergency preparedness activities.
• Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and ensure proper usage.
• Maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems and coordinate with external auditors.
• Oversee environmental protection activities, waste management and hazardous substance handling.
• Plan and supervise maintenance, renovation and infrastructure projects, including technical facilities such as electrical, HVAC, water and compressed‑air systems.
• Coordinate external contractors, monitor technical inspections and manage facility‑related budgets.

Required profile

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Facility Management, Engineering or a comparable field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in HSE and facility management within a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
• At least 3–5 years of leadership experience with team management and budget responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of applicable health, safety, environmental and fire protection regulations.
• Proven experience implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
